IxD worldwide is an outcome of the project course "Speed-Up! - and Reflect!" that took place at the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam in the summer semester 2014. Under the direction of Prof. Constanze Langer and Prof. Dr. Frank Heidmann, the study program interface design was critically examined. In the first part of the course, "Interface Design - Never Change a Running System?", we focused on the question: "What does it take to make a good start in interface design studies? The second part of the course, "Interfacedesign@FHP - Where does the journey go?", dealt with content analyses of thesis reports in interface design studies at the FHP, an international comparison of interface design programmes, further curricular developments, thinking about new forms of teaching and learning, and gender issues in the field. IxD worldwide is one outsome of the second part of the course. together with Stefan Fabris we focussed on analysing and visualising collected data on studies in the field of interface and interaction design worldwide. Data was collected to answer the following questions:
Through desktop research and a survey, information was collected which was used to create an overview and a fundamental comparison of academic education in this field. The analysed results should be presented in a detailed interactive information visualisation. However, after problems with the completeness, actuality and applicability of the information, it was decided to present it in a simple way without further analysis and interpretation The final result are a poster and an interactive map. A link to the map and poster can be found here or on the documentation site of the whole course.(in german)
